Good Afternoon Keystone Oaks Students, Staff and Families,

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Pennsylvania Department of Education released  Pennsylvania’s 2024-25 State Assessment scores to the public. These results include the Pennsylvania System for School Assessment (PSSA), Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA), Pennsylvania Keystone Exams, and Access for English Language Learners. The link above will take you to the PA Department of Education's site for Assessment Reporting. Here you will be able to click on links that will take you to both district level data and school level data, both from the 2024-2025 PSSA and Keystone Exams.

In addition, the Pennsylvania Department of Education also released the 2024-2025 metrics from the Future Ready PA Index, which is a collection of school progress measures related to school and student success. The Index includes a range of assessment, on-track, and readiness indicators, to more accurately report student learning, growth, and success in the classroom and beyond. The Future Ready PA Index link will take you directly to building level data and will show how the building compared to other schools throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The following are the names of our schools as listed on the site:

  • Dormont El Sch

  • Fred. L. Aiken El Sch

  • Keystone Oaks HS

  • Keystone Oaks MS

  • Myrtle Avenue Sch

Finally, based upon the data provided in the links above, each public school building in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is issued a building level score which can be found at the following link, Building Level Scores. Once at this site, there is a link on the right-hand side titled, “Act 13 Building Level Score for SY 2024-2025.” This will take you to the data; the scores are based on 100 total points. Below is a comparison of our schools  from the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years:

School 2024-2025 2023-2024
Dormont Elementary 90.4 88.2
Fred L. Aiken Elementary 89.3 89.1
Myrtle Avenue Elementary 83.1 73.0
Middle School 67.2 65.4
High School 77.6 75.5

I would like to highlight two remarkable achievements from the Building Level Scores for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Dormont Elementary School earned a score of 90.4, placing them among the best elementary schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Congratulations to school principal Mr. Werner and the faculty and staff at Dormont Elementary School; this is a tremendous accomplishment!

  • Myrtle Avenue Elementary School’s building level score increased by 10.1 points. This increase over one school year is remarkable and a true sign of the dedication of building principal Mrs. Baughman, the faculty, and staff, to ensure that all students are growing in pursuit of academic excellence.

The administration, both central office and building level, and the faculty of all school buildings will be analyzing this data to make informed decisions regarding current and future curricula, current and future programs, and to benchmark students’ achievement and growth. We will continue to strive to meet the needs of all our students and to provide them with opportunities that will enhance both their knowledge and life-long learning skills. Working with our dedicated teachers, administrators, the Board of School Directors, and Keystone Oaks families, we will continue to strive towards excellence and meeting the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,

William P. Stropkaj, Ed.D.

Superintendent
Keystone Oaks School District
