Keystone Oaks junior Kira Voichenko is a finalist for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s Outstanding Registered Pre-Apprentice Achievement Award, which recognizes registered pre-apprentices who have completed a pre-apprenticeship program and have demonstrated exceptional qualities to achieve success.

You can vote for Kira (and other award finalists) now through Friday, January 9, 2026. You can vote more than once; it is required that you vote for a nominee in each category.

All Keystone Oaks High School students and staff members who complete the voting process will be entered into a drawing for Eagle Way tickets, free drinks at the KOffee Shop, gift cards, and more. One lucky winner will win a $25 Dunkin' gift card! Once you complete your voting, fill out the form in ParentSquare (available at the top of this post), and include a screenshot of the confirmation screen.

Kira has a strong passion for engineering and innovation. Originally from Ukraine, she came to the United States in 2022 following the Russian invasion and has since been dedicated to building a solid foundation for a future career in engineering.

At Keystone Oaks High School, she completed the Industrial Manufacturing Technician Pre-Apprenticeship through Catalyst Connection and is now enrolled in a Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) course to further strengthen her design and technical skills.

She is a member of the Robotics and Science Clubs and helped her teams earn 2nd place finishes in both the VEX V5 qualifier and Chain Reaction challenge at regional competitions. She also attended a summer math camp for girls at the University of Pittsburgh and has completed hands-on robotics training at the Community College of Allegheny County.

Kira is currently working towards earning her second pre-apprenticeship certification. Upon graduation, she is planning to pursue a career in engineering and is interested in applying robotics and technology within biotechnology and medical fields.
